Babumoshai Bandookbaaz Movie Review

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will return to the big screen with a project titled Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. He is currently featured on MOM, a critically acclaimed film for which his performance has been hailed once again. There is no rest for the actor who will sign his fifth outing of the year. Munna Michael will be released in the meantime. It could even bring the total to six with Manto!

And if the actors in the projects tend to neglect quality, Nawazuddin creates the feat by almost never taking the slightest misstep. He embodies each character with a unique game. His talent makes him one of the most brilliant actors of the Indian industry.

Babu is a reputable hitman who has to face his rival Banke. The two men compete for three contracts to decide who will be the best. But behind these contracts hides a danger that Babu will have to face if he does not want to become the prey. The film is directed by Kushan Nandy.

It counts at its cast the Bengali actress Bidita Bag, as well as Shraddha Das and Divya Dutta. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz also marks the reunion between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anil George, who played his elder brother in the exceptional Miss Lovely.

So what is Babumoshai Bandookbaaz talking about?

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz brings out the local and realistic Nawazuddin whom we have seen in the films of Anurag Kashyap. One can think of Gangs of Wasseypur.

And of course, it's a one-man show for Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The actor captivates us from the beginning to the end. There are very few scenes where he does not appear. The film seems to offer a beautiful palette of characters and turnaround of interesting situations. The actress Bidita Bag seems to have the most important female role and we cannot wait to see her on the screen.

It should be noted that the role was originally planned for Chitrangada Singh. The actress withdrew from the project following sequences that she considered indecent. Anyway, the irreverent tone of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has enough to attract and convince amateurs of this type of independent cinema.

The film will be released in cinemas on August 25, the same day as the action comedy A Gentleman. However, we cannot really talk about a clash because the other project has lot more resources and targets a wider audience.
