Beneath A Rougher Sea by Susmita Bagchi is a book that is full of twists that lead the reader to keep reading to see what happens. The fortitude of the protagonist takes the reader into reflection on behaviours in critical moments until the final lines of the last chapter are an alternation of surprises, disappointments, achievements and rewards.
Aditya, a busy psychiatric specialist with a tough tradition knows that the means to his triumph lies in remaining judicious yet humanitarian, stitching the minds of patients suffering from hyper depression, edgy sexuality and delusions. His pace all of a sudden falters when he meets his ex-love, who is in denial about her son’s schizophrenia.
Gently, he treats the child and brings him back to stability that without a caveat throws Aditya into a camber. Suffering from a sequence of major professional setbacks he is triumphed over by a sense of disappointment and exhaustion and begins to question his own professional value.
Although it seems a novel with a happy ending the last lines bring the sad daily life of the beginning of the story, as the adventures of Aditya was still a parenthesis in his life but nothing has changed the course of events as life goes on where he had left.
From this narrative flow a series of reflections demonstrate clearly maturity and judgment of a man in general. It is in adversity that the human mind is complex, multiple, divided, mysterious, and is revealed in a defined manner, because it does not change, but come to light the aspects that usually remain in the shadows with the heart beats crazily in courage, fear, love.
The author has been able to observe men and women in such situations where people stand naked and are changed to face new hardships, to live or rather survive and the catastrophes that the shocks of life pass resist those who do not let themselves be overwhelmed and have stood the struggles.
And how much I loved this book which speaks to us in which were echoed in the great problems of humanity. I finished reading this sublime book that was very beautiful and beyond the style it hit with the sweetness. It’s a story with a positive side and in the end the protagonist finds solace.
Fortunately there are in the human resources that make overcome the misfortune of life. I was emotionally involved in the story as the characters were flashes of light and the book begins and ends with the smell of the perfume.
It’s a book of great breadth and in the book reads a positive message of what is good can become beautiful where everything is determined by the aesthetic standards of society, and this always has the ability to go beyond being in the culture that a society can produce.
On the whole it seemed more of a story of real life that still reflects the reality, and the success of a determined man. It made me think that all we have to fight, especially against prejudice. The book is very delicate, even in the description.
