Moto G5S Plus: Affordable Motorola Smartphone With Dual Camera

The new Motorola smartphones Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus supersedes the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. The Moto G5 is hardly old, but the Moto G5S and G5S Plus are all ready to follow. The new devices come in a water-repellent metal unibody. It offers a 3,000 mAh battery with the quick-charging option and is equipped with high-resolution cameras.

The first details of the smartphone models Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus were leaked. Moto G5S is the first cheap Motorola smartphone with a dual camera, metal Unibody and a 3000 mAh battery with quick charge support. The two models represent a significant improvement to the Moto G5. The two variants are fundamentally different from their predecessor models. Here are the Moto G5S Plus specs.

The Moto G5S has a 16-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture, with a dual 13-megapixel camera and depth-of-field sensor. The Moto G5S Plus is thus the first G-Series phone from Motorola with a dual camera.

The Moto G5S Plus is the larger and more powerful model with a 5.5-inch full-HD display and the 2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor. The Moto G5S has 5.2 inches full HD display and Snapdragon 430 processor.

Both the new Motorola smartphones have dual SIM nano SIM card slots and a microSD card to extend the 32 GB internal memory by up to 128 GB. At the rear of the devices is a fingerprint sensor, which can be used to unlock the display, to authorize payment transactions or to control applications via wipers.

The manufacturer does not provide precise information on the battery life of the devices. Motorola simply promises that the device will remain operational with a power-charge for a whole day and can be recharged via TurboPower within 15 minutes for up to six hours of use time.

In India, the smartphones are generally priced in a range of between Rs. 14999 and Rs. 17999. However, prices may still vary widely. For the US and other markets, there is currently no concrete price. Lenovo itself has not yet released any details about Moto G5S and G5S Plus. The company will officially unveil the two smartphone models on August 29 in India through Amazon.

If the leaked data is correct, both smartphones represent a significant improvement to the Motorola G5. The Moto G5S Plus is to convince with a Snapdragon 625 and equipped with 4 GB of RAM. In addition, it should have 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 256 GB by microSD card.

The display is a 5.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The operating system is supposed to be Android 7.1.1 nougat. The Moto G5S Plus is also equipped with a dual camera, which consists of two 13-megapixel cameras.

Moto G5S is to be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 425 and a 5.2-inch LCD panel. The resolution should correspond to that of the Plus model. The memory configurations should also be identical to those of the G5S Plus.
