Nubia Z11 Price, Review, Specs

Nubia is a relatively young brand but already has had some success in the markets where it is already present. In order to rapidly increase its capacity Nubia now disembarks in Asia, including India. We discover its flagship Nubia Z11.

Nubia Z11 Unboxing

The Z11 black box contains a power supply with support for fast charging 12V/1.5A, a Type-C USB port, a microUSB Type-C adapter and finally a couple of very good in-ear headphones with various rubber replacements.

Nubia Z11 Build

The back design of Nubia Z11 has not particularly impressed me. It is well made from the build point of view with metal with two plastic bands but is not too inspiring in its choice of colors and elements. The front part is definitely more flashy with a visible red LED notification that you can turn it off and serves as a home button and a display that covers the almost entire width of the smartphone. The device is slightly heavier with 162 grams but it is perfectly usable without major problems, and is not slippery.

Nubia Z11 Hardware

Nubia Z11 does not want to miss anything from the hardware point of view. We have a Snapdragon 820 quad core 2.15 GHz processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4 GB of RAM (LPDDR4) and well 64GB of internal memory, a very fast read/write thanks to UFS 2.0 technology. There is LTE connectivity, ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC connectivity and an infrared port to control their home devices. There is also present dual SIM support, even if the slot is to share (alternately) with a microSD memory.

We then have a precise and quite fast fingerprint reader embedded inside the metal shell on the back. The speaker is in the lower part of the smartphone and ensures good volume and quality.

Nubia Z11 Camera

The main camera is 16 megapixels and has an aperture ƒ/2.0. There's also a dual two-tone LED flash and optical image stabilization that makes a difference in low-light situations with good detail and still pictures. With fine details, good color balance and exposure with optimal light, there are lots of options with the Nubia photo software, which will give the opportunity to everyone to edit photos with various options. The videos are discreet and records at resolutions up to 4K. The 8-megapixel front camera is good, but not enough for low light situations.

Nubia Z11 Display

Nubia broke into the market with its cutting edge screen. Such a narrow screen has some advantages, but first of all, it is certainly very good to see. Regardless of the technology used, we have a good brightness, viewing angles and color fidelity, in addition to a mode called smart memory that allows the phone to remember the choice in terms of brightness for different ambient light situations. The screen is a 5.5-inch IPS and the resolution is 1920x1080 pixels.

Nubia Z11 Software

Android is updated to version 6.0.1 Marshmallow and personalization is the Nubia UI 4.0. This customization is important enough and adds various interesting apps. Meanwhile, talking about the gestures on the edge, it is very useful and intelligent, although some are too easy to be activated accidentally (especially to show the home screen).

You can then browse through the apps to switch between or slide your fingers on both edges for dimming. The dual window mode is also very well-done that allows you to open two different apps simultaneously. The strong point of this mode is that it actually launches two separate launchers and then allow you to launch any app in this mode.

This phone also allows you to take screenshots of videos but the browser does not offer a desktop mode. Obviously the Play Store is present along with support for Indian languages. In the first software many items were still in English, but with the latest update, the system is almost entirely in Indian languages, although some items translated are somewhat awkward.

Nubia Z11 Battery

The battery is 3000 mAh. On a smartphone of this type, perhaps we could have hoped for something more large, but we still were quite pleased by the battery that guarantees us one day's use with almost any type of use. It supports QuickCharge 3.0 for a very rapid charging.

Nubia Z11 Price

Nubia Z11 is priced in India at ₹ 32,859

Nubia Z11 Review

Nubia Z11 is definitely a great start for the Chinese company in our market with a powerful smartphone. Of course the world of super-powerful low cost smartphones is not without alternatives, but Z11 is appreciated for the edge-to-edge display and some features of the UI NUBIA that is quite interesting.
