The last quarter of 2017 holds several very big projects with Tiger Zinda Hai. There is the ambitious historical film Padmavati and Golmaal Again. The Golmaal franchise is the most popular modern comedy saga, ahead of Housefull. It got launched in 2006 by a young filmmaker still little known at the time named Rohit Shetty.
And, as proof, 11 years later, the 4th part is Golmaal Again. Yes, it took a long time in the newsroom to find a title that is so original. The trailer is as long for the story. But we'll come back to that later!
Golmaal Again brings together the usual skewer. There is Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu and Tusshar Kapoor. There are the usual secondary roles accustomed to Shetty productions. Kareena Kapoor gets replaced by Parineeti Chopra. If Golmaal Again is a very big project, it is for the popularity of the franchise, and its casting.
Also because it has managed by some unknown miracle to get a quasi-solo output for this Diwali. But do all these elements hide a film at the height of potential or not?
Chennai Express and Bol Bachchan were a very nice entertainment. Then there is his saga Singham. We endured Dilwale only for Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The fact is that the film was irritating. For its fourth part the franchise change theme by playing a supernatural comedy.
Devgan's band landed in a haunted mansion and there's stuff going on. The script comes down to that phrase. The trailer comes down to see people running around, screaming, fighting. There are many characters, freewheeling actors, along with Tabu. So thanks to the Diwali period, this film can start with impressive numbers.
