Queen Sugar brings to the screen the novel by Natalie Baszile. The story focuses on the children of the Bordelon family, namely Nova (Rutina Wesley - True Blood), Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) and Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe - Awkward) which approach following a family tragedy. Their father died and they must unite to direct the sugar cane farm of 800 acres of the family in Louisiana.
OWN, chain of the famous American animator will kick off its new original creation on September 6, with the levers Oprah Winfrey and director of "Selma" Ava DuVernay. Two years after their film about the American civil rights, the two women continue their collaboration through a series, "Queen Sugar".
