Book Review: Angelic Beats: Sarita Singh

Angelic Beats by Sarita Singh is the story of a journey of a boy in his late teens who falls in love with a married woman unfolding the changing point of view of a young boy and a married woman in an assortment of situations of life treading the conduit of adore, amity and accomplishment together.

Destiny brings two opposite people, the carefree, irreverent, tremendously strong and irresistible boy Sahil and married Aakanksha, constantly anxious of making a choice on one platform. And on the road leading to his infatuation, he happened to meet the primary love of his verve too to whom he introduce his love in her and his own existence and swear his heart to her where the arrows of cupid struck her also with their ultimate choices swallow up with poise through their pursuit for contentment.

Sahil and Aakanksha give each other time and opportunity to really get to know each other and understand that they are perfect together, against all odds with a sensuality highly communicative that often expresses more than they do, with the dialogues between the characters are real, that does not disturb, and is never a foreign element to the conduct of the events added only to entice the reader.

Each scene is well contextualized and reveals a new aspect of the protagonists, a new fear, and a new emotion where both want to get the maximum benefit from their union without having to give up their love and unbridled worldliness, and without any intention of ruining everything after falling in love with each other.

The relationship between Sahil and Aakanksha is very complex and overwhelming although at first seems to prevaricate on the one with Aakanksha, in the end, the three become an indivisible whole and it is clear that among other things will work if and only if all three will remain together.

Compelling and courageous, this debut novel makes with absolute precision facets and contradictions that lurk in the life of a person, capturing not just the mystery that holds it together but also the exact moment that foreshadows the catastrophe, enveloping the player in the coils of a story as horrible as human as we live only in our psyche in turmoil, prisoners of our ingrained beliefs, our fatuous desires, our endless contradictions.

This novel with its mix of elements is not only intriguing, but also make it interesting, and enjoyable that with its style, refreshes something of a theme and sheds light on a part of cohabitation and marriage, which although not the happiest, is certainly something to think about.

The beautiful writing and style of the author make it seem more aseptic and emotional, while we follow the story primarily from the point of view of Sahil, and thanks to his dualism we can glimpse what runs in the mind of Sahil and is in fact one of those novels where the setting does not count, and vanishes in the presence of an intense story, and the burning passion that unites the characters who are well constructed and characterized in their actions through very modern reasoning.

A complex, intriguing, clever and witty, novel that mixes the right sense of the thriller to psychology, the mind games, the framework takes on a value greater when the author embarks narrative lines parallel to the main story of the relationship between Sahil and Aakanksha, but especially that concerning the past of Sahil and trauma that he always tries to overcome.

The author has indeed built a plot that certainly can be understood easily, but its greatest value lies surely in the construction of a story that is fascinating precisely because it delves into the labyrinth of passion, revenge, feelings and appurtenances not necessarily manifested, explicit outside, but in those intrinsic, those for which if you dig deeper, the actions do not seem to justify the actions.

The whole book is based on the hope, the desire to take back their lives and make sense of it, because even when it seems that our path has been written and that there is no way to change things, there is always a solution, there is always a way out to our unhappiness and often found in the most unexpected places or in the most unexpected people.
