KFC Style Fried Chicken Recipe

I will have to stop looking at the cookbook for men because it has too many appetizing recipes like this KFC style fried chicken, only adequate if you plan not to eat for days because it is fried in butter, but it makes you salivate just by smelling it or even remembering it.

It is a simple recipe although the art of batter sometimes resists the less dexterous hands and in the effort to achieve a crusty and tasty layer before biting the chicken would be worth the effort and the learning.

As it is fried in butter, Viennese style fried chicken has a different flavor to the empanadas we are used to. Also, it is not usual to brew wings and thighs, so it is a good way both to get out of the routine and to surprise friends when they come to watch football.

As was the case for the burgers, even the KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken is the child of a traditional preparation. In the southwest of the United States, but also throughout Latin America, the fried chicken is the food of the poorest people.

Fried Chicken Ingredients


4 chicken thighs
1 cup milk
1 cup plain flour
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp green chili paste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tsp pepper
2 tbsp yogurt
2 cups breadcrumbs
2 cups parsley leaves
1 cup oil
2 tsp lemon zest
2 eggs
2 cups cheese
1 onion
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste

Fried Chicken Recipe Method


Place chicken pieces in shallow bowl or pan. Marinate with ginger, garlic, chili paste, turmeric, coriander, cumin, cardamom, tomato sauce, yogurt and cover with milk. Let soak for 4 hrs in refrigerator.

In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside. In a separate shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, cheese, parsley, olive oil and all the lemon zest, and toss until evenly combined; and set aside.

In another shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and cheese until evenly combined; set aside. To coat the chicken, dredge a piece in the flour mixture. Then dip into egg mixture, and finally roll in the breadcrumbs. Keep aside and repeat with remaining chicken.

Heat oil in cooking vessel; add chicken pieces. Cook on high heat for 3 minutes, reduce flame to medium, place lid and cook for 10 minutes. Reduce flame to low and cook for another 10 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Remove lid and roast on medium flame till well cooked.

Serve hot with onion slices and lemon wedges.
